Culturally Based Organizations
Within culturally based Greek chapters, members are developing an unbreakable bond with brothers and sisters, as well as immersion into the history, values and culture of an organization is extremely important. These organizations have a commitment to raising awareness of and celebrating the cultures on which they were founded and provide a deep sense of belonging on campus for their members.
Member Intake Process
Intake is a membership selection process conducted by culturally-based Greek organizations. Each chapter holds their membership process later in the academic year, as these chapters typically do not accept a student for membership until the student has an established UNI GPA and completed a minimum number of credit hours. In general, a student must obtain a collegiate GPA of 2.5 or higher, have community service experience, and involvement in other clubs or community activities. Each organization has its own requirements set by their inter/national organization and/or the local UNI chapter.
